MLI Homestay
MLI homestay has placed thousands of visitors from all over the world with caring host families over the past 25 years. We have had the pleasure of knowing that international children, teens and adults have been a part of a life-changing experience by staying with a Canadian host family. Visitors are able to experience Canadian culture and traditions first-hand by participating in daily family life and can be confident that they will find themselves in a safe, caring and nurturing environment with their host family.
StudyInsured Medical Insurance
International students are not covered by the Ontario government public health plan (OHIP). LPSI has partnered with StudyInsured International to provide all students with medical insurance. The medical insurance plan offers a wide and robust range of benefits and services, to cover international students for their entire period of study.
City of Thunder Bay
Located on the north shore of Lake Superior, under the protective watch of the Sleeping Giant, Thunder Bay is rich in people and resources, and connects Northwestern Ontario to the world.Thunder Bay has Sister Cities (including Duluth, Minnesota; Gifu City, Japan; Little Canada, Minnesota and Seinajoki, Finland) through which economic development, education, friendship, goodwill, education, and tourism are promoted.
Thunder Bay has two local post-secondary institutions; Confederation College and Lakehead University, and is home to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. LPSI is excited to confirm that pathway opportunities will be available to international students for both institutions.
Confederation College
Confederation College has been serving the citizens of Northwestern Ontario since 1967 by meeting the educational needs of students in a catchment area of 550,000 square kilometers.Confederation College delivers exceptional education and training to an average of 8,800 combined full and part-time students per year and currently has a total of 805 full and part-time employees.
Lakehead University
